DIRECTOR

I bring 20 years of experience in communication and advocacy for development and governance. Most recently I served as Director of Advocacy and Engagement for Twaweza East Africa.

There I was responsible for developing, executing, monitoring and learning from advocacy strategies for a myriad of interventions in democracy promotion and citizen agency. Through this work I initiated a new type of strategic partnership for Twaweza and was able to support and nurture five civil society organisations.

Prior to that I built the communications department for the Mo Ibrahim Foundation and spent time at Panos London (now closed).

I serve on the board of Nafasi Art Space and am an advisor to a number of social justice initiatives including Utu Jamii, and Pwani Youth Network.

I live in Dar es Salaam with the ocean as a backdrop to inspire me and nurture my gratitude for life.
